Kathy has a point too; Squats also add size to the front of your thigh, stretching the skin of the leg even more. If you build some additional muscle mass on your legs, fat "fat" layer will help your legs look smooth, curvy and streamlined. On a longer scale time (years) the extra leg strength will remove grease, because more blood capillaries will be built locally which will make the fat there is stored no longer available for distribution as fuel.
